PAR Government Systems Corporation (PGSC) and its partners are developing a cost-effective means of producing orthoimagery. The orthoimagery can serve as base maps for:

  • Flood plain management and mapping
  • Emergency management
  • Pollution prevention
  • Land use planning
  • Water quality studies, including non-point source analysis

The Global Positioning System (GPS) controlled aerial imagery data is rectified using customer-supplied digital elevation models (DEMs) to remove displacements caused by the terrain and the color infrared sensor. The resulting images are mosaiced into digital ortho-quadrangles and stored on CD-ROM as standard tagged image file format (TIFF) or in standard digital orthophoto quadrangle (DOQ) format. The ground spatial resolution of the orthoproduct is one meter and meets ground accuracy DOQ standards. Product resolutions are one meter, two feet, and one foot are available.
